TriBeCa in New York: Is it worth a visit?
Tribeca is a vibrant neighborhood in New York known for its old industrial buildings, many of which have now been converted into homes, apartments and shops. The neighborhood is also known for the many celebrities who live there and the Tribeca Film Festival that is held in the neighborhood every year.
Tribeca New York
Tribeca is short for Triangle Below Canal Street. The district consists of a triangle between Canal Street in the north, the Hudson River in the west, Vesey Street in the south and the Broadway district in the east. Tribeca is also one of the oldest neighborhoods in New York City and it’s a little slice of luxury in a quiet, scenic corner of NYC’s concrete jungle.
Pier 25 in TriBeCa New York
Pier 25 is located on the TriBeCa side of the Hudson River Park. And it is the longest pier in the Park. In the park you will find various attractions for young and old, such as playgrounds with water attractions for small children and a climbing wall and beach volleyball courts for young people, but also a sunbathing lawn with luxurious loungers for everyone who wants to relax in the park. The park has beautiful views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.
Irish Hunger Memorial in TriBeCa New York
On the corner of Vesey Street in TriBeCa New York, you will find the Irish Hunger Memorial. The Memorial was built in memory of the great Irish famine that killed a million people in Ireland. In addition, it is a reminder of the connection between Ireland and New York City. The Irish Hunger Memorial consists of an area of land that looks as if it was brought in from ancient Ireland with native Irish flora and stones from each of Ireland’s 32 provinces. Tribeca film festival
The Tribeca Film Festival is an American film festival founded in 2002 by Jane Rosenthal, Robert De Niro and Craig Hatkoff. With the festival they wanted to support the reconstruction of the neighborhood after the attacks of September 11, 2001 and also draw attention to New York as a film city. The Tribeca film festival has now grown into one of the most prominent film festivals in the world.
