One World Observatory is also called the Freedom Tower. This beautiful building was designed by David Childs and then built in 2006 as a tribute to the Twin Towers. One World Observatory is over 541 meters high and it has three observation decks.

The observation deck of the Freedom Tower is located 387 meters high on the upper floors of the One World Trade Center. The observation deck features three floors, each with 360-degree views of New York. And it’s one of the most spectacular observation decks in the city right now. After all, from here you can see not only Manhattan, but also Brooklyn, Queens, New Jersey the Bay and if you are lucky the top of the crown of the Statue of Liberty.

The elevators in the Freedom Tower are called Sky pods, and the trip to the 102nd floor takes only a minute. But in that minute you really get the most amazing 3D experience in an elevator you’ve ever had. On the ride up with the Sky pods you go from the past to the present, as it were, and see New York City being built before your eyes. The walls of the elevator car are all screens so the 3D experience is fantastic! Your ride down is also quite a 3D experience, the screens make you believe you are really breaking out of the Freedom Tower and then you fly down through the skyline of South Manhattan.

See Forever Theater

Once at the top of the Freedom Tower, you walk into the See Forever theater where a two-minute video depicts the rhythm of New York City.
After the video, the huge screen moves up allowing you to enjoy the New York skyline, and the 360-degree view behind glass that extends all the way to the ground is truly amazing! You have a great view of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Midtown Manhattan and New Jersey, and when the weather is nice you can even see the planes landing at JFK airport.

Food and drink on 101st floor

On the 101st floor you will find all the dining options, but beware this is not cheap, the snacks, cocktails or a fancy dinner are quite pricey.
